05.09.2024. National Record.

At the YDL final on Saturday 31 Aug, The Blackheath & Bromley U15 girls team not only broke the club and YDL 4x 300m relay records but also the British U15 girls all time record in a time of 2:48.29. It was an exhilarating race against six very strong YDL finalist teams.

The UKYDL National Finals were contested over the weekend of 31st Aug & 1st Sept. where Blackheath & Bromley were National Champions in both age groups.

21.12.2023. Funeral Arrangements for Alan Johnson.

This is to be held on Friday the 12th of January, commencing 12.00 noon at St Johns Church, Vicarage Drive, Dukinfield, SK16 5HZ. Followed by refreshments at Longfords, Trafford AC club house. It will be family flowers only with a collection box in church, proceeds to be shared between Tameside Critical Care, Trafford AC track fund and East Cheshire Harriers replacement cage fund. The family will join everyone at Longfords, following a private cremation.

Please let me know if you intend to go to Longfords after the church service, so I can let the family know approximate numbers for the caterers.

It is with deep regret that we have received today the following statement from Alan’s family.

"After a short illness it is with the utmost sadness that we announce the death of our much loved husband, dad, grandpa and brother Alan Johnson who passed away peacefully this afternoon with his closest family by his side."
